Census Liaison Officers will have responsibility for the successful delivery of Census 2027 in an assigned area. They will manage a team of 6-8 Census Regional Supervisors who will each be responsible for a regional area. They will act as a key link between the Census HQ Staff in Swords and the census field operation. This includes closely monitoring the progress of the census responses, providing guidance, relaying instructions from headquarters to field teams, and resolving day-to-day operational issues. They will be based in the Census HQ in Swords.
Census Regional Supervisors will each be assigned to one of 46 census regions of the country and will have responsibility for the successful delivery of the census in that region. They will manage a team of 10-13 Census Field Supervisors (who in turn will each have a team of Census Field Support Officers) and will closely oversee the progress in the relevant field districts. This role is carried out under the guidance of the Census Liaison Officer.

Successful applicants will work full-time on a nine-month contract from September/October 2026 to June 2027.
On 07 September, the next stage of recruitment will open for 466 Census Field Supervisors throughout the country. This will be a 20 week contract beginning in January 2027.
On 23 November, the final stage of the recruitment will open for 3,800 Census Field Support Officers (formerly Census Enumerators) in all areas of the country. This will be an eight-week contract during April-May 2027.
