Import Prices Index Survey - Guidebook

CSO Corporate Report,

Introduction

The Import Price Index (IPI) measures monthly price changes of products which are imported by domestic businesses under specified CPA codes from non-euro area countries.

The Products Given Should Be:

  • Repeatable each month.
  • The most significant and representative to the value of your turnover.

How to Provide Prices:

Prices should be reflective of the price charged on the 15th of the reference month.

  • If no mid-month price information is available, or if prices are subject to large fluctuations during the month, please quote an average price for the month.

Detailed Descriptions and Examples:

A list is provided under your CPA code (as stated on your invitation letter/email), with detailed descriptions and examples of the type of detail the CSO are looking for.

These CPAs will appear at a 4 digit level, for example CPA 21.10.5 will be listed under CPA 21.10.

Any products across the five digit CPA codes is acceptable.
