The Central Statistics Office (CSO) is committed to making information and services accessible to all users. This page explains the accessibility supports available, how to request information in alternative formats, and how we provide access to digital services.

Accessibility Support and Alternative Formats

We will make every reasonable effort to provide information in an alternative format on request. Depending on the nature, complexity and length of the material requested, additional time may be required to prepare or arrange an accessible version.

Alternative formats may include:

  • Accessible PDFs
  • Large print documents
  • Audio formats
  • Braille upon request
  • Irish Sign Language (ISL) supports, where appropriate

If you require information in a format that is not listed above, please contact us. Where reasonably practicable and cost-effective, we will work with you to identify a suitable format and, where necessary, arrange appropriate support through a third-party provider.

We will keep you informed of expected timeframes where additional preparation or external support is required.

Information on how to make a request is provided in the Requesting Accessible Information section.

Accessible Website and Digital Services

A wide range of information, publications and datasets are available on CSO website.

We are committed to making our websites and digital services accessible in accordance with relevant Irish and European accessibility legislation and recognised accessibility standards.

We continue to improve the accessibility and usability of our online services for all users, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation and voice recognition software.

Where content or systems are not fully accessible, we will provide alternative ways to access information and services wherever practicable and cost-effective.

Further information is available in our Accessibility Statement.

Requesting Accessible Information

Customers can indicate their preferred method of communication and any accessibility requirements when making a request for accessible information to the CSO.

We aim to provide requested information in an accessible formats within a reasonable timeframe, where practicable and cost effective.
