Administrative data is information that is collected by other government departments and agencies for their own purposes, which is then used by CSO for statistical purposes.
In the preparation of this report, the CSO have commenced a review of any disability related administrative data, which may support the survey development. This involves reviewing all administrative sources currently held by the CSO. The CSO are also considering any other sources which may not be held currently by our Administrative Data Centre, but which we may need to acquire from our government partners.
Topics which fall under the admin data review include employment, education, transport, communal establishments, health, housing, benefits and schemes including Department of Social Protection payments. For example, income data will be added post collection from the PAYE Real-Time Data source received from Revenue.
This administrative data review will continue throughout the next phase of development, to ensure administrative data is well integrated into the design and build of the IDS 2026 pilot.
